repeat of my e-mail to [email protected]

For many years I have been researching Dr John Fraser of Wolverhampton as Hull University has his plant collection. Although we were the first herbarium in the world to provide an on-line search to the catalogue I have never been able to find an image of the man to put on the website. My interest in this great man was re-ignited last week after I was contacted by his great-great-granddaughter and I thought that I’d have another search around.

I was pleased to note that you have a picture of him on your web page at

and wondered whether it would be OK to use (with suitable acknowledgement) a copy on my biography page at

I assume that the image shows him in his uniform as the Honorary Surgeon to the 4th Staffordshire Volunteers? 1892? Do you know of any other pictures of him?
